名前は恥ずかしいCRNS35EU2はかなりお手軽にハードウェアRAIDが

組め、eSATAまたはUSBで他のコンピュータと接続できます。

他のサイトでもレビューされているように、

* eSATAコネクタがゆるゆる

* LEDがまぶしすぎる

などちょっとした不都合はありますが、今のところ問題なしです♪

* 上段のHDD自体かコネクタが故障しやすい？

というコメントがやや気になるところですが、今のところ、わたくしの

環境では故障していません。

USBでもつなげられることで、たとえLinux箱が急逝しても、最悪

USB接続で中のデータをすぐに取り出せます

さて、冒頭のLinux箱の話にもどりまして・・・Linux箱のスペックですが、

こちらのSATA/eSATAボードはSiliconimage社のチップ（3124）が使われており、

最近のLinuxディストリビューションや最新のFreeBSDなどではたいてい自動的に

認識されるようです

実際、Ubuntu9.04,Fedora11,Openfiler2.3,FeeNAS0.7RC2などではなにも

しなくても認識されました。

で、HDDはつけておらず、こちら↓のUSBメモリを２つUSBスロットにさしています。

BUFFALO マイクロUSBメモリー ブラック 4GB RUF2-PS4G-BK

で、なぜ、２つかと申しますと、それでRAID1を組んで運用しているからです。

実売１４００えん位ですので、コストパフォーマンス的にもまずまずでは

あえて白と黒の2色で運用しています。

これは、抜き差ししていると見分けがつかなって引き起こす事故防止です

イーサネットはオンボードのRealtek1Gものです。

電源はケース付属のもので、一抹の不安があります。。

個人的な感想では連続運用していて、故障しやすいのはHDDよりもむしろ、

電源のような気がしています。

HDDが本当にとんだ経験は一度もなく、電源は２度３度、故障し、

憂き目にあっています、、かなーり昔なので、２１世紀の電源事情は

変わっているかもしれませんが。。

さて、こんなLinux箱にRAID箱がつながれています。

箱自体は、、、上でご披露したとおりですが、肝心のHDDは

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up?
